Roofing at Thanda Royal Residences, KZN

LOCATION: Thanda Royal Safari, Hluhluwe, Kwazulu Natal
PROJECT DATES: July 2022 – Sept 2024
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 2627m² shingles, 934m² roof sheeting including covered walkways
SCOPE OF WORKS: We are excited to a part of this project in Thanda Royal Safaris where luxury residences are being built. To date we have installed the roofing on five Lots; this includes roofing the perfectly rounded roofs of the “pods” and core buildings which are done in shingles. We also installed the roofing on the staff accommodation and garages, and over the walkways between the buildings on each lot. Our scope of works also included building the decking and walkways on six lots which was approximately 2380m² of decking, as well as a small amount of thatching on the salas.

SCOPE OF WORKS: This stunning new roof is built with loose rafters which are a feature inside the home. We installed the ceilings and eave ceilings, and the roof covering. New Roof on a Timber Home Build

LOCATION: Chintsa East, East London
COMPLETION DATE: April 2022
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 168m²
SCOPE OF WORKS: We were contracted to build this beautiful custom timber home in Chintsa East. The roof is single pitch with two sections, and built with loose rafters which are exposed on the inside of the house. We also built the pergola at the front of the house which is covered in specialized Topgal sheeting; known for it’s lightweight properties while providing optimum light transmission and excellent thermal insulation. Re-Roofing of a Home in Morgan Bay

LOCATION: Morgan Bay, Eastern Cape
COMPLETION DATE: May 2022
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 240m²
SCOPE OF WORK: This roof was tiled, we stripped the cement tiles and replaced them with AZ200 corrugated roof sheeting, with matching ridge and flashings.

Re-roofing a Holiday Home in Chintsa East

COMPLETION DATE: May 2021
APPROXIMATE SIZE OF ROOF: 250m²
SCOPE OF WORKS: We stripped the existing roofing off this house and replaced it with new metal roof sheeting. The client chose AZ200 corrugated roofing in Thunderstorm Grey.

Reroofing at the Hogsback Hotel, Eastern Cape

Reroofing the Historic Hogsback Hotel

LOCATION: Hogsback, Eastern Cape
COMPLETION DATE: November 2020
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 1535m²
SCOPE OF WORKS: We were contracted to remove the existing tiles which had been damaged in a hail storm. We reroofed the hotel in metal roof sheeting (AZ150 corrugated in Thunderstorm Grey). On this roofing project three of the hotel buildings were reroofed including the Conference Centre, Riverside Suites and the Staff House. We also replaced the ceilings in the Conference Centre. Reroofing of the Buffalo City College, East London

Reroofing the Buffalo City TVET College

LOCATION: East London
COMPLETION DATE: June 2020
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 826m²
SCOPE OF WORKS: We stripped the old roofing from this college roof and fitted new shingle roof tiles to the existing roof structure. This included all fascia and barge boards around the edges and corners of the roof.

Small Roof over a Veranda in Chintsa

LOCATION: Chintsa East, East London
COMPLETION DATE: May 2022
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 25m²
SCOPE OF WORKS: We built this roof to cover an open veranda. We used custom timber posts, painted white, with stainless steel brackets at the joins. The roof is AZ200 corrugated roof sheeting.

LOCATION: Olivewood Private Estate, Chintsa
COMPLETION DATE: June 2021
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 40m² (two veranda roofs 20m² each)
SCOPE OF WORKS: This project was done in two phases and involved fitting two veranda roofs over the sundecks at the front of the house. We did some custom carpentry on this project including fitting garapa timber cladding to the underside of the roofs, and building stairs to access the verandas from the garden.

Award Winning Roofing: Roof Construction and Installation at Olivewood Private Estate

LOCATION: Olivewood Private Estate & Golf Course, Chintsa
COMPLETION DATE: March 2018

SCOPE OF WORKS: This project is one of the highlights of our career and won us the prestigious ITC-SA Gold Award for Roofing in 2018. We built and installed the roof on the main house and Summer kitchen of this new, private home in Olivewood Golf Estate. There are exposed trusses in three areas of the home including the entrance, verandas and Summer Kitchen. In these areas we constructed the roof in a spectacular loose rafter system. We completed other work at the house including installing the ceilings, eave ceilings, and custom timber and steel work on the deck and verandas.

**This project was awarded the Gold Award for Roofing at the ITC-SA Timber Engineered Product Awards 2018**

LOCATION: Gonubie, East London
COMPLETION DATE: Dec 2019
APPROXIMATE ROOF SIZE: 85m²
SCOPE OF WORKS: This beautiful outdoor living area gives plenty of space to play! We built the support pillars and installed the roof according to the engineers design. The work also included the decking around the pool and building a big brick braai area under the roof.

LOCATION: Viskop Private Resort, Chintsa
COMPLETION DATE: March 2016
SCOPE OF WORKS: Five holiday homes were burnt down in a terrible fire, we were contracted to build the new roofs on these homes. The original roofs were thatched; we built the new roofs with pre-fabricated timber trusses and cement tiles. We also installed ceilings in all of the houses. Read more about this project
